Symphony Education Partnership
The Symphony Education Partnership is a unique collaboration between the School of Music at Queen's University, the Limestone District School Board, the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and the Kingston Symphony Association. Each February, the Kingston Symphony presents four concerts for grade four students in the two local school boards. In preparation for these concerts, Queen's University music education students teach a set curriculum written by a member of the Queen's University School of Music faculty to participating classes.
Each season, Kingston Symphony Association Volunteer Committee of the Kingston Symphony Association provides awards to recognize and encourage the development of excellence in young performers living in Kingston and the surrounding region, who are studying symphony orchestra instruments. The awards include various cash prizes.
