Schumann & Beethoven

Szczesniak: Chanson du Lac

Beethoven: Violin Concerto

Schumann: Symphony No. 3 *

Vast, sweeping, significant works dominate this concert lineup. We have Beethoven’s only violin concerto, a colossus of the repertoire and one of the world’s most beloved pieces along with the last symphony written by Schumann, his third which is also known as the 'Rhenish'. We also feature Michel Szczesniak's lyrical Chanson du Lac, a piece influenced by the many beautiful views of Lake Ontario afforded by the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts.

*Schumann's Symphony No. 3 will replace Ryan Trew's Symphony No. 1, which was originally on the program for this concert. The premiere of Mr. Trew's work will take place at a concert in one of our upcoming seasons, date to be confirmed.
