At the Isabel
The Masterworks Series features Brahms’ mature symphonic works, a feast of Canadian music in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary including a new work by Juno Award winning composer and Kingstonian John Burge, the fifth symphonies of Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Beethoven, Mozart’s Gran Partita, and much more! We welcome world-class guest artists to our stage including trumpeter Larry Larson, the Gryphon Trio, violinist Jonathan Crow, and pianist Avan Yu. Cellist Ariel Barnes performs not only Dvorak’s beloved concerto, but also Victor Herbert’s second concerto, which inspired it!
At the Grand Theatre
Our Saturday night Pops Series promises three nights filled with exceptional entertainment! We start the series off with Canadian crooner Michael Vanhevel and the Kingston Symphony performing songs that made Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett household names, in fantastic arrangements created by the late Howard Cable. We feature popular cinematic masterpieces composed by John Williams and welcome the award-winning Sultans of String to close the season in a truly majestic fashion.
The special concert this season includes two performances of Candlelight Christmas, one of Kingston's favourite holiday traditions. We have programmed two family-fun themed concerts this season. The first concert features Prokofiev's timeless musical tale of Peter and the Wolf, brought to life by the Kingston Symphony as well as other animal-inspired works. The second features children's musical star Chris McKhool and his friends from Sultans of String who will have you clapping, dancing, and singing along in Fiddle Fire. Add any of these special or family concerts to your season subscription.
Perfect for the music lover who listens to a wide range of musical styles and desires flexibility. Create your own subscription series by picking four or more concerts from the Masterworks Series, Pops Series, or Special Concerts. Enjoy the luxury of subscribing with the convenience of choice!
