We are looking ahead to a jam-packed November calendar! There are lots of exciting concerts happening around the Kingston Symphony Association this fall - and a cherished volunteer event returns to ignite your holiday spirit.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Kingston Grand Theatre, ingenious Canadian children's entertainer Al Simmons returns to the Kingston Symphony stage with a new program called Something's Fishy. Al is a wizard of astounding gadgets and preposterous props. His last show with us several seasons ago was a sold-out sensation. This concert will have you chuckling uncontrollably! A must-see for family fun.

Then, join us for an electrifying evening on Saturday, November 22, 2025 - also at Kingston Grand Theatre - that pulls back the curtain on CBC’s hit series Murdoch Mysteries. This exclusive event, blending television drama and live orchestral performance, will be hosted by series star Thomas Craig (Chief Constable Brackenreid) and will feature music by Emmy-nominated composer Robert Carli. Explore how music for the series is brought to life and then watch the thrilling episode “Murder in F Major” on the big screen, accompanied by a live symphonic score! Take advantage of the opportunity to meet Thomas after the show by purchasing Meet and Greet tickets, available as an add-on to the concert tickets. A limited number of these tickets remain for purchase.

The Kingston Choral Society, Kingston Community Strings, and Kingston Youth Orchestra also have performances coming up in November that range from Mozart’s Requiem to Haydn and Gossec to a celebration of melody. Our constituent organizations have been prepping for their seasons for months and now you get to hear them perform some truly amazing pieces of music. Please check out the concert listings for the Kingston Choral Society, Kingston Community Strings, and Kingston Youth Orchestra to find out more.

And who could forget about another cherished Kingston Symphony Volunteers event happening November 21 - 23, 2025. After a very successful Book Fair and Vinyl Records Sale, the volunteers are now in gear for the last sale of 2025: The All Things Christmas, Gifts & Art Sale. This sale is your chance to find both great holiday gift ideas and beautiful artwork at fantastic prices! The volunteers are collecting donations now and would welcome donations of artwork - original paintings, drawings, etchings and sculptures, good reproductions, or fabric art, be it embroidery or artistic knits. They would happily receive small antiques, craft items such as pottery, wooden bowls, and figurines. Jewellery such as silver or gold, good costume jewellery, and watches are also in demand. Donations of actual new gift items, just out of the box, that can be passed on as gifts to discerning friends or family are also appreciated. And last but not least, they welcome donations of Christmas trees, decorations, seasonal linens, boxes, wreaths, complete puzzles, complete winter games, Christmas books and Christmas CDs. We are so grateful for your continued generosity. Let’s make this sale another triumph! Visit Donate Items or All Things Christmas, Gifts & Art Sale to learn more.
